Calling All Entries for the WebAwards

Do you think yours is the best site on the Web? Prove it by entering the Web Marketing Association’s 16th annual international WebAward competition.

The WebAwards recognize individual and team achievements of Web professionals who create and maintain successful sites. Participants' websites are rated with a numeric score, based on seven criteria including design, innovation, content, technology, interactivity, copy writing and ease of use. Each entry is judged against other entries within the same industry category, as well as against an overall standard of excellence. Participants also receive a website evaluation and valuable feedback from the WebAwards' professional judging panel.

The deadline to submit your website into the competition is May 31.

This year’s top awards include a “Best of Industry” award that will be given to one website within each of the 96 industry categories; a “Best of Show” award that will be given to one site that represents overall outstanding Web development, and a “Top Interactive Agency” award that will be presented to the interactive agency that wins the most awards during the competition. And starting this year, every agency and corporation that wins 10 or more WebAwards will also receive an “Outstanding Interactive Developer” trophy.

The 2012 WebAward judging begins in June and runs through August, with the winners being announced in September. The judging panel is made up of Internet professionals who have direct experience designing and managing websites as well as posses an understanding of current website development and technology, this will include members of the media, interactive creative directors, site designers, content providers and webmasters. Website Magazine is on the list of the competition's past judges, which also includes top executives from organizations like CNN.com, Yahoo! and IBM.

Enter the Internet Advertising Competition Awards

One deadline has passed but there is still time to enter the Internet Advertising Competition (IAC) Awards. The Web Marketing Association, who hosts the competition, says they have received a record number of entries this year but the window is closing fast. All entires must be received by Friday, February 11.

Enter in several categories that includes best banner ads, email ads, rich media, online newsletters, online video, mobile and online apps, websites and social media across 86 industry categories. The winner of the most awards will be named Top Agency of 2011 - quite an achievement adn excellent marketing fodder.

The Web Marketing Association has announced the call for entires for its 14th annual international WebAward competition. As a former winner (Best Media Website, 2009) and now as a judge for this competition, I encourage Website Magazine readers to submit their sites as the exposure and feedback you'll receive are absolutely worth it.

“The goal of the WebAwards is to not only recognize the people and organizations responsible for developing some of the most effective Web sites on the Internet today, but also provide valuable feedback to entrants on how their sites stack up against their peers and industry standards of excellence,” said William Rice, president of the Web Marketing Association. “The WebAwards is different from other Web site award programs, because we’re not just a beauty pageant focused on name recognition and design. For that reason, we see ourselves more like the Good Housekeeping Seal of Approval than the Academy Awards.”

Websites are judged on seven criteria including design, innovation, content, technology, interactivity, copy writing and ease of use. The "Best of Industry" WebAward is given in 96 categories, and the competition’s highest honor, the 2010 WebAward “Best of Show” will be given to one site that the judges believe represents the pinnacle of outstanding achievement in Web development. The Web Marketing Association has announced the call for entries for its 13th annual international WebAward competition.

The WebAwards competition sets industry benchmarks based on the seven criteria of a successful website, recognizing individual and team achievements of Web professionals who create and maintain outstanding websites. Website Magazine has been fortunate enough to win a Web Award, and speaking from first-hand experience, we can attest that the value - both of participating and of course winning - is immeasurable (in a positive way).

"The WebAwards is different from other website award programs because we're not just a beauty pageant focused on name recognition and design," said William Rice, president of the Web Marketing Association. "The goal of the WebAwards is to not only recognize the people and organizations responsible for developing some of the most effective websites on the Internet today, but also provide valuable benchmarking data to entrants on how their sites stack up against their peers and industry standards of excellence. The deadline for entry in the 2009 WebAwards is May 29, 2008.
