Glam Media just announced a new release of the Ning platform which it acquired in December 2011.
The new features aim to deliver a "premium" social and mobile experience. Glam also introduced Glam Social (which is powered by Ning) for businesses and brands to manage their social communities and fan pages.
Ning currently reaches 50 million monthly active users and is adding more than 2,000 new social networks each month.
This release brings new social tools including Social Aggregator (a set of advanced tools for making Ning a social hub), Social Mobile (a configurable, HTML optimized solution for mobile interfaces), Glam Social Ads (which enable Ning Creators to add Glam’s social brand advertising), and Ning VIP which was developed for large scale social networks.
“The explosion of social platforms and the rapid adoption of smartphones are reshaping how people connect with each other, and creators and brands are looking for engaging ways to foster these meaningful conversations,” said Samir Arora, Chairman & CEO, Glam Media. “Ning’s platform gives social network creators and businesses the tools they need to drive purposeful interactions with the members that matter most while still supporting the larger social community on any topic.”
