Ecwid merchants have a new option for accepting payments online, thanks to a new integration between the e-commerce platform and Stripe.
Traditionally, merchants are required to set up a merchant account and payment gateway before they can start accepting online payments, which is a process that can take several days. With Stripe, however, merchants can start accepting transactions immediately.
In order to use the payment platform, Ecwid merchants must sign up for a Stripe account and select the Stripe payment option in their system settings. Then, merchants can start accepting transactions. The platform aims to simplify the process of accepting payments online, from security and compliance to daily deposits into a business bank account. In fact, Stripe is currently leveraged by a variety of small and large-size businesses, including Foursquare, Mixpanel and Lyft.
“We’re very excited to be working with Ecwid,” said John Collison, president and co-founder of Stripe. “Obviating the traditional need for cumbersome merchant accounts and gateways, Stripe allows Ecwid users to sell to anyone, anywhere, in minutes.”
