Zoho Takes on Subscriptions

Zoho is taking aim at the subscription economy, as the popular Web application provider has launched a new online subscription management software for businesses that rely on recurring revenues.

The new product, dubbed Zoho Subscriptions, aims to bridge the gap between the subscription economy’s recurring revenue focus and traditional accounting requirements. In fact, Zoho Subscriptions enables user to manage the entire subscriber lifecycle and run subscription-specific analytics while also providing a data-level integration with Zoho’s online accounting software, Zoho Books.

“You can’t guide a subscription-based business without a recurring revenue perspective,” said Raj Sabhlok, president, Zoho Corporation. “But you can’t ignore the demands of traditional accounting, either. We’ve been managing a subscription business at Zoho since 2005 and now handle more than 10 million users, so we know a thing or two about subscription management. Zoho Subscriptions leverages that experience, and it weaves subscription data into the Zoho Books accounting application. We’re integrated at the data level. And we’re the only company that can do that today.”

With Zoho Subscriptions, users have access to revenue metrics that are relevant to their subscription-based business performance, such as monthly recurring revenue (MRR), average revenue per user (ARPU), life time value (LTV), churn rate, activation count and more. Additionally, Zoho Subscriptions’ integration with Zoho Books enables users to view accurate information on cash flow, profit incurred and tax liabilities.

It is also important to note that Zoho Subscriptions helps businesses simplify subscriptions. This is because it helps businesses remove barriers for their customers trying products and services via multiple plans, add-ons, discounts and trials. Plus, Zoho Subscriptions can manage multiple subscriptions, cancellations and renewals, as well as automates management for payment collection. The solution can also handle multiple currencies, one-time transactions, and both online and offline payments.

Zoho Subscriptions is currently available at a launch price of $49 per month for unlimited transactions. Once the launch pricing ends, the product will be available for $49 per month for 50 card transactions and $5 for every additional 50 card transactions. That said, all Zoho Subscriptions users receive unlimited access to Zoho Books at no additional cost.
