Salesforce is helping companies create their own app marketplace with the launch of its AppExchange Store Builder.
The AppExchange Store Builder enables companies to create fully customizable app marketplaces for distributing mobile, Web and desktop apps to customers, partners and employees. By customizing their app storefronts, companies can give all end-users a consistent brand experience.
It is important to note that the solution offers built-in dashboards that provide transparency into activity and downloads. Moreover, companies can include business apps as well as third party apps for various device platforms, like Android and iOS, within their store. Plus, existing solutions available in the Salesforce AppExchange, such as Chargent, Linvio and Zuora, can be integrated into AppExchange Store Builder to add payment processing.
"Every company is becoming an app company, but until now, they haven't had the option to centralize app management and distribution," said Jim Sinai, senior director, AppExchange and platform, Salesforce. "With AppExchange Store Builder, any company can quickly create a completely customizable storefront for its users."
The AppExchange Store Builder is now generally available at no cost to existing Salesforce customers. That said, additional users require Customer Community licenses, which are available starting at $5 per user per month.
