Just as consumers expect enterprises to offer frictionless experiences so too do employees, whether that's in regard to how they access information or learn new skills.
Today, Coveo, a provider of advanced enterprise search and relevance technology, announced the availability of several new and updated Connectors for third-party cloud storage, product lifecycle and social media feeds for its enterprise search platform. The Coveo Connectors bring together enterprise assets that are often fragmented among multiple cloud and enterprise applications into the Coveo unified index (a component of the Coveo platform), which offers real-time refresh capabiltiies while keeping information secure and maintaining employee permissions.
For example, the Coveo YouTube Connector brings video content often used in training programs to employees when they need it (like if a situation arises that they don't know how to handle). According to Coveo, with video as part of the unified index companies can serve the real-time needs of employees to gain new skills in the flow of work rather than asking employees to view video content for potential future use.
The YouTube Connector is one of many updates to enable employees to search for information the moment they need it. The Coveo Dropbox Connector is yet another, as it allows users to retrieve folder and file information from Dropbox accounts, including Dropbox folders, files and revisions.
“Today’s digital native employees prefer to learn through search rather than traditional training programs; they know skills are changing and have short shelf lives. With these Connectors, the goal is to provide broadest connectivity across cloud and on-premise systems to unify organizations’ ‘ecosystems of record’ and inject only relevant information into the context of employees—when and where they need it," said Diane Berry, SVP of Market Strategy at Coveo. "With this approach, employees can upskill on the fly, as they are doing their work, because the information they need is simply there, at their fingertips, across systems and devices.”
Along with the enterprise search Connectors, Coveo announced several new integrations with leading CRM, cloud and social/community systems for Version 7 of its Enterprise Search Platform. Customers leveraging Coveo as their enterprise search solution within their contact center, for online self-service portals or websites can now consolidate customer-facing information and knowledge from Microsoft Dyanmics CRM, Oracle Knowledge, YouTube, Lithium and others.
These new Connectors support Coveo's strategic initiative in 2015 to expand further into the CRM/customer service marketplace, which is expected to come to fruition later this year in Version 9 of Coveo's enterprise search platform.
