As Microsoft looks to bolster its cloud service, Microsoft Azure, the technology giant has announced that Azure Search in now generally available.
The search-as-a-service solution helps developers to build sophisticated search experiences into both Web and mobile applications. Along with the general release announcement, Microsoft also announced a slew of new features for Azure Search including enhanced multilanguage support for more than 50 languages, new indexers for Azure DocumentD8 and Azure SQL Database, two new API’s and a .Net software development kit.
“The way people access online services has changed. Half of our users access our marketplace through mobile devices. Our mobile apps have been downloaded more than 2 million times. These users want information faster than ever; they expect real-time experiences. Azure Search provides a scalable solution that can keep ahead of our explosive growth,” stated Shane Sullivan, director of software engineering at autoTRADER.ca.
