SDL has unveiled industry specific language platforms to help organizations deliver better experiences to their customers.
The language platforms are an extension to the Language pillar of SDL’s Customer Experience Cloud (CXC) and include eight industries: travel and hospitality, finance, life sciences, global marketing, IT and software, manufacturing, e-commerce and consumer electronics. The platforms were built to cater to every industry’s own unique needs and challenges when it comes to language. For instance, life science companies require high quality, technical translations because they exist in a highly regulated market where an inaccuracy could impact a patient. On the other hand, travel and hospitality companies must translate billions of words of customer reviews as quickly as possible.
The SDL industry language platforms are fully customized for the requirements of each industry to ensure accurate, consistent translations across languages for a more relevant experience. Each platform integrates SDL’s existing translation technology and services and can be further customized to meet specific requirements.

It is important to note that each industry language platform provides a tailored solution, including pre-defined translation workflows that deal with the most common content types of each industry and associated review and security issues. In addition, the platforms include industry specific automated translation customized for each market, industry specific terminology pre-populated with common industry vocabulary, specialized translation services delivered by SDL’s in-house, in-country domain expert translators as well as customer journey analytics to help companies track international brand health, global market opportunities and campaign and product launch effectiveness.
