Facebook has introduced a new chat client for Facebook at Work, a version of the social platform that allows co-workers to share and collaborate in private.
Work Chat is similar in many regards to Facebook's Messenger. Functionality includes the ability to participate in group chats, share photos and videos, use stickers, make voice calls and message others individually.
The first version of the app appeared last week in the Google Play store and an iOS version is expected to arrive some time in the near future.
The solution is similar to solutions including Yammer, HipChat, Glip (which Website Magazine uses internally) and Slack. These solutions have seen rising adoption the past few years, in great part due to the integrations with project management and other productivity apps.
The chat client is available exclusively for those testing Facebook at Work.
