Video consumption by Web users seems to break records every year and companies are actively looking for reliable ways to deliver the best possible experience.
Digital content delivery solution Limelight Networks, for example, announced that its technology platform (Limelight Orchestrate) is now managing and streaming content for CuriosityStream, a streaming service for nonfiction content.
The Limelight solution is a suite of cloud-based video delivery and management software that will provide CuriosityStream the global footprint and scalability required to handle peak loads and delivery in broadcast quality regardless of device or location.
“We built a new OTT service from the ground up, so we turned to Limelight as a single solution to manage, secure and deliver our videos so we could focus our resources on building our streaming business,” said Peter North, chief digital officer for CuriosityStream.
“Our customers expect us to support a variety of devices such as Roku and Apple TV, native smart TV applications, tablets and smartphones. Limelight enables us to deliver video in the ideal format to each of these competing but inherently different streaming platforms.”
