Cloud Operating System Nimbula announced that its Nimbula Director product is now available for free and as a public beta. If you ever wanted to run your own cloud computing service then today is your luck day.

The software delivers a cloud operating system software much like Amazon EC2. Nimbula Director features include policy based authorization (enabling secure multi-tenancy), topology-independent distributed network security and monitoring and metering. Nimbula Director also provides automated deployment and cloud management to scale and facilitates easy migration of existing applications into the cloud by supporting multi-platform environments and flexible networking and storage.
