SingleHop Redesign Adds Shared and Cloud Hosting

Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) provider SingleHop is doing its spring cleaning early, completely overhauling its Tandem Reseller Hosting program, including tripling its offerings by adding cloud and shared hosting capabilities.

Tandem users have long been able to utilize SingleHop's Web hosting platform, in addition to its size and experience, as their own, because the company offers complete white label automation, and now these same customers will be the recipients of a host of new hosting capabilities, as well.

Among the programs newest features are the ability to sell instances on SingleHop's Public Cloud or build a customized Private Cloud, rapid deployment of all virtual machines within 15 minutes, shared hosting that includes free cPanel, WHM and supports up to 20 customer accounts, free tutorials and, of course, complete white label automation.

Cybera ONE Embeds 3G and 4G into Cloud Security Platform

An announcement by Cybera about its Cybera ONE cloud-based security platform makes it the first such solution to integrate 3G and 4G connections into its full suite of security, remote backup and recovery services.

The Cyber ONE solution gives customers a managed Firewall, Wireless IDS, Virtual Private Network, security information and event management for one fixed annual cost. The integration of 3G and 4G connections is meant to help network security administrators eliminate the need to utilize various products from several vendors. Moreover, cellular backup helps ensure that networks remain connected even when their primary connections are down, reducing the likelihood of fraudulent transactions and improving security and reliability.

This package of embedded wireless capabilities provides a host of new features for Cybera One users, including the following:

ServInt Previews Pricing Structure for Jelastic Hosting Platform

Provider of enterprise-level managed hosting platforms ServInt is gearing up for the major upcoming launch of Jelastic, its new cloud-based Java hosting platform, by releasing early information about the solution's pricing structure.

The new platform will be the first Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) to offer customers pay-as-you-go pricing options and utilize the Java development environment. This means that developers won't need any special coding to create applications with Jelastic; instead, they can simply click on a button to set up Java apps with automatic scaling in just a few seconds.

In addition, Jelastic will automatically install, configure and interconnect server instances with a wide range of industry-standard software stacks.

Jelastic's auto-scaling model should be attractive to customers used to typical cloud pricing structures that come in a per-machine model that requires a lot of planning and near-constant monitoring. Jelastic, on the other hand, will only charge customers for the amount of memory and CPU that their Java app(s) consume, which helpsminimize costs during periods of slow user activity, while maximizing speed, efficiency and uptime during peak intervals; and all of this happens without needing any customer intervention.

The Jelastic solution has been in beta testing since November. Current plans are to officially launch the solution in March with a free two-week trial period.
