The United States Postal Service has a
new recycling program. Mail Back allows you to discard your "small electronics" (cell phones, MP3 players, ink cartridges, PDAs, digital cameras) in an environmentally responsible way. The program is in conjunction with Clover Technologies Group. The first attempt to refurbish and remarket the items. Failing that, the devices are dismantled and parts are used in other devices or finally, parts are simply recycled. Clover has a zero waste to landfill policy.
Free, postage-paid envelopes can be found at the post office - currently 1,500 locations in 10 cities including Chicago, Washington D.C. Los Angeles and San Diego. More will be made available if the pilot program is successful.
