iPhone Claims Top Mobile Browser

Apple's iPhone Safari browser has taken the market share as the top mobile browser in the U.S. StatCounter tracks over nine billion page-loads from over two million websites each month. They found that the iPhone holds a 0.18% market share in the U.S., good for the top spot among all mobile browsers. Toss in the iPhone touch and that number jumps to 0.23% - a 64% increase since December. Pretty impressive, as the iPhone has been in circulation for under a year. The mobile Web has been lamented for years for not living up to its hype. Is this a sign that it's finally arrived?

In the UK, the iPhone is number two (0.06%), behind Nokia (0.15%).
