For all of you social networking addicts who have accumulated thousands of "friends," TheMarketLodge.com has something for you.

This site lets you create an online storefront that you can embed into your profiles at MySpace, Facebook, LinkedIn, your own Web site ... almost anywhere. You fill the store with available products from around the world and whenever a friend buys something from your profile, you make a 10% commission. The vendors handle all of the shipping, etc. so you never see the product. Payments arrive via Paypal, deposited in the account whenever your commission reaches $50. Setup takes only a few minutes and it costs nothing to join. Through their website, you can also track your sales.

At first glance, the product selection is not the greatest. The books section has children's books, health & nutrition, pet care, yoga and cookbooks. Clothing comes in two categories - cycling gear and T-shirts (odd). There is some interesting jewelry, DVDs are mostly yoga, other exercise or holistic-type stuff, and sports & outdoor is essentially another outlet for more cycling gear. So ... let's hope they beef up their selection. Soon. However, if your online friends are into cycling, yoga or similar interests, I suppose this might work well for you. Or, how about setting up a profile and targeting those types of people?

Of course, you can also join Market Lodge as a vendor and sell your products across the variety of social networks out there. Maybe if enough vendors sign up the product selection will improve.
