Google Sites Opens to Public

Google's latest website creation service, Google Sites, has officially opened to the public. The service allows you to easily create websites, hosted at Google, without any HTML or coding knowledge. The focus here is on collaboration. Google has made it easy to create a website for use by many, giving the ability to enable multiple editors - essentially creating an intranet or wiki.

From Andrew Zaeske, Engineering Manager at Google, "Now we've made it easy for anyone to set up a website to share all types of information -- team projects, company intranets, community groups, classrooms, clubs, family updates, you name it -- in one place, for a few people, a group or the world. You can securely host your own website at http://sites.google.com/[your-website] and add as many pages as you like for free."

Check out the Official Google Blog for more details and a video demonstration.
