If you're planning some home improvement work or looking to purchase some products for your home and want to be eco-friendly about it, check out Rate It Green, currently in beta. This site looks to the community to provide advice and resources for green building practices and home services and products. There are listings of green building vendors, green building basics, products and services listings.

To be a member and post ratings, reviews or forum entries, you'll need to fill out a survey, which the site claims to take about 10 minutes. The site states: Information about the community of individuals and companies that form the market for green building products is an important resource we can leverage to help grow the marketplace.  The more users share about their characteristics and participation in that market, the more robust our community can be and the more we can conduct quality research.

In other words, some of your data will likely be shared with advertisers and other companies to fund the site. But, if you don't mind sacrificing a little information for a greener future, it could be worth the trouble. Some features that are planned for the future include referrals (a classified section for both consumers and vendors), green news and information, FAQs and a green job board.
