KallOut's tagline is "Search Outside the Box." And that's exactly what it does. This download lets you highlight words or phrases in Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, PDFs, or any page on the Web and get a drop-down selections of what to search with that word or phrase. KallOut's BestGuess suggestions will take the term into context to deliver the best options.
For example, if you get an email that includes an address, highlight the address and a small box will appear. In that box you can choose to get a Google map, get images, and so forth. Highlight a product name on a Web page, email or document and you may see links to search that product on Amazon.com, eBay and Craigslist. Highlight a movie and you will get suggestions to search YouTube, IMDB, Wikipedia and more.
The idea is that you can search while staying in your current window, negating the need to click back-and-forth between windows or tabs.
