    SEO Optimization

    Follow developers,

I'm new to SEO and would like some advise on how best to optimize our current site www.rosesgiftideas.com.  Products are from Longaberger Company and identifying top keywords is difficult based on what I'm reading about PPC and other means of getting top rankings.  Many key words e.g., gifts, gift baskets, gift ideas, corporate gift baskets are very competitive and we have a shoe string budget at this time.  Any advise you can give me on what to change on our website, keywords to use, SEO needed would be appreciated.

    Respectively,

    Roses Gift Ideas

Apply old tech thinking to new tech. Think from the outside in. Determine which customers have the most potential to purchase your products and what terms would they use to search for you. Put them in your title tags, home page and anywhere else you can. You can do that for every page if you have the time. Get yourself listed in directories and get as many links into your site as possible. You can also do a adwords campaign using more obscure search terms for cost efficiency. SEO is only part of the total game. One problem you may have is a too "cute" URL. You may want to invest in more that are more intuitive. Good Luck!

    Re: SEO Optimization

Hello Mark, You may want to consider using (facebooks ppc advertising). It is a whole lot cheaper than Google, not as strict as google, and gives you a whole lot more serious targeted traffic from there geo targeting options. Example would be, lets say you were selling craft baskets, gift baskets etc.. you can very tightly geo target that niche right down to a very specific -(place, race, male, or female, age, or to a certain collage even, ect..

Did you know that Facebook has around 38 to 39 BILLION page views every single month, and has arbout 400 MILLION users! I think facebook is even starting to scare google a little?

I think this would be a great place Mark, Especially if your on a shoestring budget of some sort and dont put alot of time into google roght now until you get the right traffic from facebook. Then i would try to convert that traffic to earn some quick Revenue, and then maybe consider trying Googles PPC.

    Re: SEO Optimization

I have been using Facebook Advertising as well as Google CPC. I have found Google CPC far more targeted and cheap.

    Surprised.............?

I get (on Average )5 Visitors from Face book for 1$, Bounce Rate is 80%. Conversion Rate is less than 10%. (Based on different Analytics I use)

2 Visitors from Google, Bounce Rate is less tha 20%. Conversion rate is over 60%.

So what do you think which advertising is cheeper?

If you just want traffic, Face book is Grt. But if you want conversion, still no competitor to Google.

These statistics can be different based on product and Industry you are. Specially products related to life style and leisure may have better conversion.
