As a website developer I have dealt with many hosting providers both for my own websites as well as my clients websites. I started with IXwebhosting which was great initially but then went downwards, to GoDaddy and now I'm with BlueHost hosting. I have been very happy and satisfied with them, they offer cpanel11 which is just perfect for me, unlimited hosting space, unlimited file transfer and unlimited domains. For the price that they offer I think there are very few hosting providers that can compete with them. Ohh..and the customer service is fantastic, zero to minimum waiting times and most important (to me) "skilled" people on  the phone who understand what you're talking about.
