So our new website is up, what do you think?

So my company Badass Builders has just launched the 5th version company website. Since 2005 we have always catered to a more niche market and have been gaining popularity because of our creativity. The latest version of the site truly is my favorite but there are little things that I think could be better... Although we are still fine tuning the website I would sincerely appreciate any input you may have to offer as to the site design, navigation, ease of use and any other areas of input you may have. Thank you for taking the time, it is greatly appreciated...

To Badass Builders:

The images on your site seem to reflect "horror movie/novel" much more than "website design and marketing." It's original, but it seems confusing. Have you used these images and typefaces for a while and succeeded?

Also, I noticed you had pages labeled "About Us" as well as "Info." Those two phrases seem similar. When I clicked on your Info page, I noticed it was about website/service/promotional packages. Perhaps the Info page should be re-labeled "Packages."

Your "Green Page" appears to about your environmental dedication. Even so, I thought the fact that your logo changes from red to green was slightly distracting.

Finally, the email addresses on your Contact page are hyperlinks, and they are typed accurately (rather than "info [at] badassbuilders [dot] com"). Do you find this eliminates confusion, or that it brings unwanted spam?

John, thank you for your input on the new website. Regarding you question of using images and typeface like these, I believe I mentioned that in my post: “we have always catered to a more niche market and have been gaining popularity because of our creativity”. I understand what you are saying about the About Us and the Info pages, if you look at them they really are completely separate. The About Us page is about us and the info page is info on our services. I appreciate you letting me know that was a bit confusing. We will be adding rotating content in that area so that is why we did not just label it packages, but that is a point well taken. The green page, well I guess I don’t even know how to answer that. I thought the Green Page was pretty self explanatory as to why the whole page was green… Still it is great to know other peoples impressions. As far as the contact page, we offer a contact form, a quick quote form and standard hyperlinks so that people can use any method they wish to contact us. We do have spam filters on our servers so they collect most of the spam that comes through… I do feel it eliminates confusion because some people do not like filling out a contact form they just want an email address or phone number. I hope this answers your questions and again I really appreciate your input.

Frankly, I'd run away from doing businses with that site in a NY minute, but then I'm a female and as such, seeing a near-naked woman first thing is my cue to click the button closed. However, in your case I did look things over while trying to avert my eyes from that image and and use a discerning eye from a developers viewpoint, not a womans. I do think your design is very nice and original and will appeal to those of a certain "Type", if you will.

I take it that is who you're looking for, so I hope it works for you and always wish my fellow developers wishes for much success.  (Except I still say lose that woman on there...lol)

I love the "animated" medu bar!

I think the women comment wasn't really needed and should just be focused regarding the design, which the user was asking about. Personal attacks about what people will be going to the site isn't really needed here, as we all have different businesses to run. JMHO.
