25 Big Data Movers & Shakers

Many enterprises are actively finding ways to capitalize on the vast amounts of big data they have at their disposal, turning to rapidly growing companies including Pentaho, LucidWorks and those on Website Magazine’s new Master List of 25 Big Data Movers and Shakers (see below) including Tableau Software which recently went public in a 1 billion dollar IPO.

Birst.com: An enterprise-level business intelligence platform, allowing users to combine data from different source systems in real time.

Datasift.com: A social data platform that enables users to aggregate, filter and draw insights from public social conversions on social networks including Twitter and other sources. Ideal for those creating social CRM, business intelligence and news monitoring applications.

Dataspora.com:A predictive analytics firm acquired by Via Science in 2011. Provides a machine learning platform to discovuse cause and effect relationships within big data.

DataXU.com: A real-time media management platform build for digital, cross-channel ad campaigns. The platform combines automated media buying, optimization and analytics.

DigitalReasoning.com: A developer of data analytic solutions with a focus on understanding natural language patterns (taking structured and unstructured text as input) within big data using named entity recognition, knowledge of time and geographic references combined with patented relationship analysis.

Qlikview.com: A popular business discovery platform that deliver user-driven business intelligence, to help to simplify decisions and harness the potential of data.

SiSense.com: A business intelligence software company and creators of an end-to-end software application, known as Prism.
