3dcart Integrates Dwolla Payments

Posted on 9.15.2013

E-commerce solution 3dcart announced an integration with emerging payment network Dwolla which will enable its customers to send, request and accept money.

“Not only is Dwolla fast, safe and easy to use, its pricing structure can’t be beaten,” said Jimmy Rodriguez, 3dcart’s chief technology officer. “The entire 3dcart team is excited about Dwolla’s integration, and I’m confident our growing merchant base of 16,000+ will be thrilled to use this amazing, custom-built payment network.”

Dwolla’s integration allows 3dcart merchants (and their customers) to send money through email, phone, Facebook, LinkedIn or Twitter, eliminating the need for paper checks or plastic charge cards. Unlike other payment companies that rely on credit and debit cards and can charge sometimes excessive processing fees to make payments, Dwolla features a custom-built network that securely connects to a chosen bank account while allowing users to move money easily and affordably. With Dwolla and 3dCart, transactions over $10 will cost just $0.25, while anything under $10 will remain free.

"We're really excited to be among 3dcart's officially supported payment gateways,” said Michael Schonfeld, lead developer evangelist at Dwolla. “3dcart has long been a major player in the ecommerce space and one of our most popular integration requests. Our partnership will pave the way for many merchants who are fed up with the credit card oligopoly and are looking for a secure and affordable payment alternative.”
