60-Year-Old Biz Solves Enterprise Resource Puzzle

Posted on 11.03.2015

While point-of-sale transactions, warehouse management and store delivery aren't the hottest topics in commerce, all of these operations (and more) contribute to a retailer's overall success - both online and off.

What's more, as business buyers (like those stocking their real-world or digital shelves) bring their consumer-like buying expectations to B2B, manufacturers and distributors will need to provide a seamless experience for them in order to earn their business. A lot of times, this experience depends on a company's enterprise resource planning (ERP) software.

Sixty-year-old company Bergin Fruit & Nut Co., a manufacturer and distributor of healthy food products, recently began implementing Deacom, a provider of ERP software. With unique costing, invoicing and pricing requirements, Bergin Fruit & Nut Co. sought flexible ERP software that was specific to the food manufacturing industry, and would also ensure the company remains compliant with government regulations. Acquiring data in real-time was a requirement as well.

“We were growing in revenue and also growing out of the old ERP system,” said Jason Bergin, Vice President/Operations Manager of Bergin Fruit & Nut Co. “Previously, we did not have the functionality of Direct Store Delivery (DSD) and needed a simplified Warehouse Management System (WMS) in order to meet demands and best prepare for continued development. DEACOM ERP not only delivers on these but its single-system approach ensures each element of the business works together to ensure accurate data and processes in real-time.”
