7 Reactions to Instagram’s Redesign
Everyone has an opinion when a brand implements a redesign, and usually there is both positive and negative feedback. For worldwide brands like Instagram, however, those opinions come in tenfold.
Instagram introduced a new look earlier this week, which not only features an updated icon but also a new app design. The new icon is much brighter with a simpler design, while the updated app has swapped out its traditional blue color scheme for black and white. According to Instagram, the black and white design puts more focus on the photos and videos shared on its platform without changing how a user navigates the app.
“The Instagram community has evolved over the past five years from a place to share filtered photos to so much more — a global community of interests sharing more than 80 million photos and videos every day. Our updated look reflects how vibrant and diverse your storytelling has become,” the social network says in its announcement.
Although we will all get used to this design change eventually (just as we do anytime a social network updates its design), that hasn’t stopped many from sharing their opinions online. While many don’t mind the interface design, the logo is a different story. Check out seven Twitter responses to Instagram’s new design below:

4. A case of missing identity.
Why have they changed everything about #instagram. I'm hating it 😢. It's like they've taken it's identity away 🙈🙈.

5. Why mess with a good thing?
Why mess with a good logo that NOBODY wanted changed. In any way. Whatsoever. #Instagram #instagramupdate pic.twitter.com/BqaKbGaBZc

6. If it's not broken, don't fix it.
I never understand why apps change their entire layout for no apparent reason. If it ain't broke don't fix it! #instagramupdate

7. A breath of fresh air.
Who else is loving @instagram's redesign? I think the cleanliness of the white gives the images much more room to breathe.
