9 Brands Doing Social Media Better Than You

Posted on 11.28.2013

To truly master social media, it's necessary not just interact with your audience, but also engage them. That's incredibly difficult of course, and to make matters worse, there's no road map to help you get there.

If you, like millions of other businesses, see the value in the social media channel (and Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and Google+ among others) - and it's hard not to - then you need to understand who's doing it right - and by "right" we mean better than you and better than everybody else.

Website Magazine is profiling nine brands that are doing "social" better than the rest. While you likely won't have as many fans or followers as these brands, you can easily mimic much of their social media behavior on their own profile. What's unique about their updates, posts, tweets, and profile pages - can it be replicated? In most cases, yes it can.

What is interesting about these companies' social media profiles is that they have successfully made the lifestyle of their audience the focus, not the products. These brands provide their audience with something to aspire to, not just another thing to have or consume. These brands focus on long-term loyalty, not short-term profit/clicks alone.

Facebook is by far the predominant social media network, and while it has the majority of profiles listed below, we've also taken a look at other networks including Twitter, Pinterest, LinkedIn and Google+. What brands do you follow that the Web finds compelling, unique, interesting and engaging? Comment below and let the Website Magazine community know!
