Broadband & Boomers
About a month ago, my Dad learned how to send and receive text messages. Since then, I get several a day - he's retired and likes to keep me informed of the latest developments with the Cubs or how many holes he parred that day. He also spends about two hours per day reading The New York Times, Times-Picayune, and Chicago Tribune - all online. Last year, my brother and I bought my Mom an iPod. She says it changed her life. She downloads music and even bird calls for her birding trips around the country. No, I'm not here to give my family biography. However, my parents - of all people - are firmly entrenched online. They're boomers, and they're not alone.
