Firefox 3 Breaks Non-Existent World Record

Posted on 6.18.2008
There was no record to begin with, but the download frenzy of Firefox 3 made a stunning impact and will enter the Guinness Book of World Records as the largest 24-hour software download. Unofficially (and this number will drop slightly as over counts are weeded out) Firefox 3 was downloaded more than 8.3 million times in 24 hours. At it's peak the browser was downloaded 283 times per second, or 17,000 times per minute. The browser was downloaded in about 200 different countries. Another eye-popping number: Firefox 3 already has a market share of about 4% worldwide.

Download Firefox 3.
