Flight: Friday Afternoon Time Killers

Posted on 5.15.2008
Plane Flight Simulator ( This one has been around a while, but still a good resource to kill a bit of time. On the bottom right of the screen you'll see crosshairs. Click and hold your mouse to get the plane moving, then steer with the mouse. It's difficult at first, but enjoyable once you can keep the plane in the air. Use the "Move" toggle for the best view. There's also a helicopter version - that I can't fly very well.

Google Earth Flight Simulator: Very cool flight simulator that lets you fly all over the globe, or at least the Google Earth globe. The controls are many and it takes some getting used to, but once you get going it's highly entertaining.

Paper Pilot: With Paper Pilot, you can get high scores and invite your friends to a challenge. Choose your paper airplane style, paper weight, winglets and elevators, then use your mouse to throw the plane. Scores are measured by distance.

Fun Paper Airplanes: Do the real thing! Send some planes flying over cubicles, then blame it on your coworker so you don't get sent home. Here you can view, download and print paper airplane designs. Choose from beginner, intermediate, advanced and novelty models. FYI, the world record for paper airplane flight time is 27.6 seconds.
