Google Adwords Video Ads Tips
Being an employee of Website Services Magazine requires that I surf the Internet on a daily, regular basis. Frequently, I have headphones on. Nothing annoys me more than an unsolicited video or audio feed interrupting my listening pleasure. I frantically search for the source so that I can mute it or close it completely. Most of the time, I have no idea what the ad is for, I just know I don't want to hear it. I hate television commercials too. One of the pleasures I find on the Web is the accessibility of uninterrupted information. But, Google Adwords Video Ads is gaining momentum and I'm fairly certain that it's here to stay. Although users are prompted to click on the ad to start it running it's not hard to see that, before long, these video ads will play whether you like it or not. It follows the theory of inevitibility where, as theorist Derek Brockis explains, "When you know enough about any situation its future is entirely predictable."
On that note, it's always better to be ahead of the curve than a follower. Like any technology, there are best practices to follow. So if you feel like assaulting the rest of the Web community with your video ads, check out this post on Video Ads best practices. For selfish reasons, I don't like the trend, but from a business perspective it's only logical to follow suit.
