Google Removes Feeds from Search Results

Posted on 12.18.2007
Do a search on Google and you're not going to find RSS or Atom feeds anymore. But you will still find podcasts - because so many people are listening to podcasts these days. Google claims the removal of feeds will enhance the user experience. According to the Google Webmaster Central Blog, "Feeds increase the likelihood that users see duplicate results," and "Users clicking on a feed may miss valuable content available only in the HTML page."

Searching for feeds will now need to be done through Google Reader and iGoogle.
