Obscure Google Search Tricks

Posted on 2.01.2008
The good folks over at Lifehacker published a nice post revealing some interesting, fun and useful search tricks to use with Google. They include tracking flight status, converting currency, metrics, bytes and more, comparing items using 'better than' and 'reminds me of', using Google as a free proxy and more. Check out the post.

Now, in true community, Web 2.0 fashion, some other gems can be found in the reader comments:

Lordkenyon says, You can also Google tracking numbers for UPS, FedEx, and USPS just by entering the number (e.g. 1Z14662R0340419XXX).
Mike Panic says, You can also get weather reports by typing: weather zipcode. Example: weather 90210
Unruled says, mike panic: you can also just use a city name. "weather new york", works great.
Optimacy says, For movies, type in the movie name followed by the zip code you are in - handier than a newspaper!
Demonllama says, Google an area code and 9 times out of 10 it will tell you what state it's in.
Themadhiker says, instead of going for your calculator, just enter your multiplication, division, subtraction or addition and the search result will give you the solution.
