Support for PHP 4 ends; On With PHP 5

Posted on 7.15.2007
The PHP development team announced Friday that support for PHP 4 will continue only until the end of this year (2007), after which there will be no more releases of PHP 4.4. Critical security fixes will be available on a case-by-case basis however until 2008-08-08.

If you are using PHP 4 on any applications (a good question for your application developer) now might be a good time to plan the migration to PHP 5, which has greatly improved PHP's performance and capabilities.
