Photography: Friday Afternoon Time Killers

Posted on 6.19.2008
Another Friday afternoon is upon us. Me? I'm going golfing, but not quite yet. Here are a few sites to get you closer to your Friday afternoon plans, whatever they may be. This week's theme is photography. Simply put, these photographs are stunning. There is a large collection here to peruse. Drag the mouse around to get the full 360 view, the SHIFT key zooms in and the CTRL key zooms out on most. Don't forget to look above your head and down at your feet. A few personal favorites are Versailles (2007), Tower Bridge (2008) and Tomb of Ramses (2008). FYI, these are large files.

The Commons:
Flickr's The Commons hosts a large collection of historic photographs from places like The Brooklyn Museum, The Powerhouse Museum and recent addition, The Smithsonian.

Eagle Eyes: Audobon's version of Photo Hunt. There are two sets of photographs, both very similar. But there are five differences that you must find within your chosen time of 10, 20 or 30 seconds, or no time limit. Five levels of play - quite challenging at times and a good way to kill off a few minutes.
