Publish Your Blog in a Fancy Book

Posted on 2.20.2008
If you have a blog, you've probably thought at one time or another, I should write a book. But the idea of sitting down and spending the next year or two suffering from writer's block is scary. The good news is that your blog has tons of material fit for publication. The bad news is that your blog readers (especially new readers) don't often read the full contents of your blog. Older posts may never be seen.

Blurb offers an easy way to take the contents of your blog and publish them in good old-fashioned book form, and it's remarkably easy. Simply download the software and start piecing together your masterpiece. Some nice uses would be cookbooks, children's books, business books, portfolios, photo books or a wedding memento.

Now the bad news ... it's a little pricey. The low end is $12.95 per book for up to 40 pages in a square 7x7 format in paperback. Large format landscape (13x11) can cost up to $159.95 for up to 360 pages. Ordering in bulk comes with some discounts, 15% for 200-400 copies with the option for a custom quote for more than 400 copies. And don't forget shipping. It may be worth it if you want to distribute to local bookstores or if you want to elegantly pitch your book to a publishing company.
