Security: Symantec Backs Up

Posted on 8.02.2007
Software vendor Symantec is scheduled to release an SAAS (software-as-a-service) backup service in 2008 for small and medium-size businesses called the Symantec Protection Network. Via the Washington Post," Symantec will introduce a variety of services that will give small businesses a way of doing things like filtering unsafe Web sites or e-mail messages, and even remotely accessing desktop PCs."

SaaS products and services are all the rage these days - and security solutions will be no different. Just look at Google's acquisition of firms such as Postini and GreenBorder and you you start to see how the market is shifting from one which focuses on serving large clients to one which support small and mid-range enterprises that truly need security products.
