The Falcons Go Social

Posted on 1.10.2008

The Atlanta Falcons launched FalconsLIFE (www.falconslife.com) recently, a social networking community for Falcons fans. Over 25,000 users were migrated from the team's conventional message board system into a more interactive solution provided by ThePort.com. The new site lets Falcons fans develop their own profile pages, publish blogs, upload and share videos and photos, initiate surveys and participate in online discussions.

“FalconsLIFE allows our fans to stay connected in ways not previously possible,” said Dan Levak, Falcons Director of New Media. “For the Falcons, it’s a new way for us to learn from and interact with our most important audience. We’ve already gained important insight into what our fans care about and ways we can provide them with maximum value.”

If you're looking at transforming your traditional message board system to a solution with more social tools, the ability to migrate your existing users is going to be a key deciding factor.
