State of the Vlogosphere
Mefeedia, an index of video weblog feeds submitted by users, aggregated data in March 2007 and produced its first Quarterly State of the Vlogosphere report to answer the questions we were all wondering about; "how many videosblogs are there?" and "where exactly is the vlogosphere?" Mefeedia data indicated that the vlogosphere is growing; the company is now tracking 20,913 vlogs as compared to 617 vlogs in January of 2005.
According to the data collected by Mefeedia, videoblogs are at:
Independent Websites* - 56.9%, Blip.tv - 11.6%, YouTube.com - 11.1%, DailyMotion - 8.5%, Revver - 0.7%, GoogleVideo - 0.6%, MetaCafe - 0.2%
Break - 0.2%, MSN - 0.2%, Others - 10.2%
* Independent websites are those that are setup by a videoblogger that are not associated with a video sharing site.
