Editor's Corner - Issue 3

Posted on 4.10.2006
Being successful on the Web is not an easy task. It requires specific skills, a diverse knowledge base and, just as in other aspects of life, dedication and a willingness to excel.

This issue of Website Services Magazine focuses on e-commerce and once again we are setting the bar extraordinarily high with a broad array of topics from an amazing group of authors; from information on web design and SEO to articles on cutting edge marketing and advertising techniques, there is certainly something for everyone.

What you will find is that there are many steps necessary to be successful online, namely in the realm of e-commerce. There is no magic bean, no special formula; just practical advice about improving the online experience for you and your consumers.

We hope that this issue will act as a guide for anyone with ecommerce ambitions. No hype, no black hat – just tactics that Web experts know and use and the things we believe everyone should know too.

Industry News: Web Site Awards
The Web Marketing Association has begun its call for entries for its 10th annual international WebAward competition.  Web sites are judged against other entries in its industry on seven criteria, including design, innovation, content, technology, interactivity, copy writing and ease of use.  The goal of the WebAwards is to not only recognize the people and organizations responsible for developing some of the most effective Web sites on the Internet today, but also provide valuable feedback to entrants on how their sites stack up against their peers and industry standards of excellence. The deadline for entry in the 2006 WebAwards is May 31, 2006 at www.webawards2006.org.
