Web 2.0 has certainly changed the internet for the better. User-generated content is all the rage and those sites taking advantage of the trend are seeing big benefits. These days, Web 2.0 is everywhere - everything from video sharing to social bookmarking and networking. Entirely new industries have sprung up around the media of the masses. As such, SEOmoz has released their 2007 Web 2.0 awards - recognizing the best of the new Web. Included is an explanation of the criteria for selection. There are the expected - YouTube as the top video site - and some surprises - MySpace (hosting more than 160 million profiles) not in the top three for social networking.
