Yahoo to Focus on Mobile

Yahoo is making a move to try and best the best when it comes to search. Yahoo will be focusing much of its efforts and resources towards advertising in the mobile world. So far, 19 coutries have signed up to feature Yahoo brand advertising and on board are Pepsi, Intel, Proceter & Gamble, Nissan and Hilton.

Mobile devices are getting bigger, more colorful screens, faster connections and closer towards being able to flawlessly surf the Net, and Yahoo wants to strike first. According to Steve Boom, Yahoo's senior VP for mobile and broadband, “mobile advertising market is [consequently] poised to explode.”

Estimates place mobile device users totaling three billion by the end of this year. Yahoo has the Yahoo! Go 2.0 software platform ready to roll out to the major mobile manufacturers, along with relationships with advertisers - both big steps towards taking the lead in the mobile market. Your table is ready, Yahoo enjoy your meal. And try not to choke.
