Yellow Book Adds Video Advertising

National Yellow pages and online local search company Yellow Book USA announced today that it is launching a live advertiser video trial on yellowbook.com, the company's IYP site. The trial is limited to a select group of Yellow Book advertisers from across the country that represent a "cross-spectrum of small and midium-sized businesses that advertise on the network.

The video advertising will be professional produced, high quality spots that five advertisers the opportunity to promote their business in their own words, taking place at the advertisers place of business. Video is a very compelling medium, said Pat Marshall, chief new media officer at Yellow Book. An ad with sight, sound and motion is the next level in Internet local advertiser content. Consumers are remarkably drawn to it.

 There are a few demo's available at Yellow Book. No information was available on how the videos would be deployed, but it looks like a wonderful addition to the IYP business model.
