A Next-Gen Security Response Framework
Website performance and security service Incapsula has released a new security rules engine, which it hopes will boost the defense capabilities of its clients against DDoS and Layer-7 application attacks.
The new engine and InRules security scripting language allows customers to devise rules that can be enforced within seconds across Incapsula's network - a necessary feature with today's real-time security concerns. Incapsula clients have the ability to restrict access to specific Web resources (applications, URLs, parameters) per IP, country or client type, as well as apply mitigation rules where needed (e.g. restricting the rate of account signups per IP or session).
"It typically takes other cloud services upward of 45 minutes to enforce rules," said Gur Shatz, CEO, Incapsula. "Driven by our InRules security language, our new security engine allows customers to apply even those most complex, granular rules across our worldwide network in just seconds, for the first time giving customers the same controls as our security team."
