A Video Player with Interactivity Built In

Posted on 9.29.2016

Video is a powerful medium, but many 'Net professionals have struggled to drive meaningful interaction. New technologies are emerging, however, and they could make the format even more exciting than it already is.

Video platform Vidyard, for example, just launched its new interactive video player and it is providing businesses many more interactive features than what has been available to marketers before.

Vidyard's new advanced annotations feature, powered by HTML and JavaScript, enables users to add real-time pricing to videos and integrate other services such as help desk ticketing software into video, overlay lead capture forms and surveys, as well as insert a buy now button in the player so they can encourage customers to convert.

“Video in and of itself is already more engaging than other media, but when you add interactive features, the experience becomes that much richer,” said Michael Litt, CEO and co-founder of Vidyard. “Like personalization, interactivity pulls the viewer in to the content and makes them part of the story while providing deeper insights into what they want.”
