AdWords New Bid Simulator Feature Estimates Conversions
In addition to receiving data on clicks, impressions, and cost estimates, AdWords advertisers can now also see estimated conversions through its Bid Simulator tool.
The Bid Simulator tool estimates what advertisers results could have been on the search networks (by collecting and analyzing data from ad auction on Google) from the last seven days. The tool takes into consideration data including Quality Score, competitors’ bids and keyword traffic, using that information to estimate where ads would have appeared, how frequently they would receive clicks, and now, how many conversions ad campaigns would have generated at different bids.
Google indicated that the longer the history and the more conversions advertisers have, the more accurate the estimates will be. Also, don’t remove or move the conversion tracking tag because it could invalidate the estimates.
To get started using the Bid Simulator tool, sign in to your AdWords account and select the Campaigns tab or the Ad groups tab. The Simulator icon will appear in the “budget” column if you’re on the Campaigns tab, one in the Max. CPC column if you’re on the Ad groups or Keywords tab.
