Affiliate Jump Script

Posted on 1.06.2009

An affiliate jump script is a way for a website to mask (or hide) the URLs they are sending traffic to from the user, search engines and even other affiliates. The use of jump scripts is actually quite popular with more established affiliates, but if you don't know how to code, you might end up paying a few dollars for the capability. As such, I thought I'd give our readers a head start to masking their own links with an affiliate jump script that can be used on any PHP site. Then I came across a post I did nearly two years ago which makes short work of implimenting an affiliate jump script on your site.

Here's what I said back in December of '06:

Semi-savvy Web surfers know the difference between a genuine link to your own product and one that you are promoting using an affiliate program. Hide them well and convert at a higher ratio.

Sounds about right. The affiliate jump script was developed by Steve Dawson, and he's actually published quite a few free scripts you might want to take a look at - from an affiliate accounting system to a reciprocal linking software script and he's giving them away for free.
