Are You Ready for the Holiday Rush? [Infographic]
As the holiday season quickly approaches and consumers start crossing off items from their lists, it’s vital that merchants understand what consumers want most in an online store.
Invesp Consulting, a conversion rate optimization company, has released their latest infographic detailing holiday shopping trends for the 2014 holiday season.
For many merchants the holiday season brings along a barrage of orders and website visitors. In fact, Invesp estimates that the sales form this holiday season will account for 23.7 percent of the total retail e-commerce sales for the year in the U.S. Moreover, during the upcoming holiday season in the U.S., online retail merchants are expected to generate $72.41 billion in sales, just shy of $10 billion more than they did in 2013.
In order for e-commerce merchants to fully capitalize on the holiday shopping frenzy it’s vital they understand what's important to consumers as they shop. According to Invesp, 74 percent of shoppers said that an easy-to-use shopping cart that helps to accelerate the checkout process is very or even extremely important to them.
