AutoRoll Your Weblog
Blogging has brought many new terms into the Internet lexicon. One such term
is blogroll - a list of blogs that you like and end up listing on a distinct
section of your own weblog. I received an interesting email last week from
Criteo and thought I would give their
AutoRoll widget a try - you can see it live in the sidebar at the
AutoRoll is a blog widget that displays links to blogs that your readers should like. In real-time, The Criteo Recommendation Engine computes the relative affinity of all blogs with the widget installed and displays the top links on your site. The more often a reader visits a specific blog (ideally your blog), the greater the affinity. Criteo then determines and displays (for any given blog) its relative affinity with all other blogs that have installed AutoRoll.
Autoroll is supported on all of the major blog platforms and you get some decent data (impressions and click through rates) through their reporting tools. You can sign up to add the widget to your site at http://widget.criteo.com/.
EDITORS UPDATE: I took off the widget due to some super-spammy links - I guess the recommendation engine needs a little tweaking?
