Bad News for Email Marketers

Google's email solutions (Gmail/Inbox) are used by over 1 billion people each month. Any change in how the company manages the email experience for its users should absolutely be top of mind with senders. 

Users of Google's Inbox app will reportedly soon begin to see a notification that prompts them to unsubscribe from promotional emails that have not been opened in a month. 

The new feature works via an "Inbox Tip" card that appears at the top of a user's inbox in both the Android app and desktop site (although it appears only to be a test). The features asks if recipients want to unsubscribe from a specific sender's emails, and show links to unsubscribe or ignore the tip.
