BBC News Redefines Social Publishing with its 'Instafax' Approach

Most brands struggle with social media (information publishers, service providers and e-commerce merchants) but there are definitely some stand outs and they deserve a close look. 

The BBC News for example, recently retooled its Instagram account and completely redefined social publishing in the process. The information publisher now delivers a single news item in a 15-second video. The month-long trial of the approach, dubbed 'Instafax' is currently only releasing a handful of videos each day. 

With a more uniformed approach to social media publishing, BBC News hopes to engage a far more demanding audience in terms of interactivity. Individual updates consist of videos or photos with snippets of text and a soundtrack - which can then be expanded to reveal more information and a link to the company's website.
